Investigations 001

Created in 2024, the initial Investigations series features self-portraiture of the artist as "The Investigator." In this role, Riley documents her decades-long search for solutions to a progressive autoimmune condition, highlighting the absurdity of managing a chronic illness through traditional Western medicine, experimental treatments, and dietary speculation. Using her own body as a primary site of inquiry, the work examines the clinical and personal trial-and-error inherent in navigating life with a disabling disease.
